Language of love


Looking at these big cats nuzzle, it's hard to believe that they are among the deadliest predators on land. The two white Bengal Tigers (Panthera tigris tigris) you see here are among the three kept by the Singapore Zoo. And they all have these amazing turquoise eyes.

Contrary to popular (mis)belief, white tigers are not albinos, the whiteness of their furs being caused by a recessive gene (much like how some people are born left-handed). True albinic tigers would have pink eyes and no stripes, though their existence is still disputed.
