Playful light

This is coming back to the trip to Central Business District last Sunday morning. This set of Romanesque façade and Ionic capitals is actually west-facing. But the light bouncing off the glass surface of a building across the street danced on this otherwise uninspiring scene and made all the difference.

* * *

The Sun was dropping low west and shining right ahead. "Glaring?" i asked. "Quite," you said. If you turned aside, though, you might be able to see how the golden light had given the trees a dazzling glitter, or the pedestrians their long long shadows. You didn't see them, perhaps because you concentrated too much on the glare.
