Being a really ancient city (it was already a very properous city during the Han Dynasty), Chengdu is a wonderful co-existence of the old and the new. In the foreground you see a portion of the walls surrounding Daci Temple, built at least 1,400 years ago, while in the distance is the Times Plaza, completed only in 2004.
